| Hey guys, I had a quick question. For reference: I have had the Stage V Southbend SS full face clutch for about 15K miles now, and has lots of life left on it. A description of the noise i have: when i put the car in gear to start moving and I let go of the clutch pedal, there is a short grinding/rattling noise i can hear, and it goes away when the clutch in fully engaged. It only happens in lower gears, or when i am going 20mph and have it in forth gear and hit the gas. I recently pulled the tranny out to change out the reverse sensor switch on the transmission. I also replaced the pilot bearing while in there (which was a possible suspect for the noise). I also greased up the clutch fork, input shaft, pilot bearing and stuff with moly fortified grease (another suspect since i had used white lithium grease previously). So now i think i pinpointed the problem: My question is, When the clutch disc is out, are the springs in the clutch disc supposed to move at all? I recall one of the springs could be moved around with my fingers and made a rattling noise if I shook the disc around. I dont think this is normal. I dont have a new clutch disc laying around to check if those springs have any free play. Thanks for your time!
